The WORST part is that "Nice and Fresh" does NOT stand behind their products and REFUSED to reimburse me or give me another cake when I visited them the next morning.
Think twice before going to Nice and Fresh. This may have been a fluke because we have got baked goods before BUT when they don't want to make right with an unhappy patron you think twice about giving an establishment your money and support.
The worst part--I also bought a co-worker a whipped cream birthday cake (again behind glass looked okay) but I was so embarrassed when my coworkers cut into it. The whipped cream cake must have sat there for days because it was cracking at the base and it felt and tasted like dry rubber! This is not an exaggeration--most just dumped their piece after a few bites. Granted, the cakes do look good but they are not fresh or tasty as they appear!
I live in Austin, Texas and unfortunately had a death in the family to someone very close to me that lived in Bridgeport. Living 2000 miles away it was difficult for me to think of a way to help the family. I decided to send a tray of Italian pastries and Googled bakeries near the residence. Thankfully, Nice N Fresh was the first one that popped up. I called the morning of the service, praying they could make a large tray and deliver it. I didn't hold out much hope. I spoke to a very nice woman named Melissa. I explained my dilemma and she was extremely helpful. Expressing her condolences, she said they don't normally deliver, but due to the circumstances would try to find someone to run the order over. AND SHE DID!!!! She was very patient with me (this is 6 AM mind you) and explained what and how many pastries there would be on the tray and promising delivery by 1 PM. My family sent me a picture of the tray, that was there on time, and said the pastries were delicious. The tray was done up very well. A very heartfelt thanks to Nice N Fresh and especially Melissa for their kindness. My next visit home, their bakery will be one of my first stops to thank them in person. And to sample the delicious pastries.
This is place USED to be good but now it is TERRIBLE! I bought cookies that looked good under glass but when I got them home were actually frozen solid. Shame on them passing everything off as "Nice & Fresh."
You lost us as a customer Nice N Fresh. Very disappointed.
Friendly staff. Delicious breads. Got a bacon, egg and cheese on a Portuguese roll. Perfect. Wonderful traditional pastries and cookies.
If you DO NOT want to be embarrassed at a social event DO NOT buy your bakery goods from Nice and Fresh. Their food is anything but fresh and the customer service is DISGRACEFUL. The store sales help are rude as well. Sadly, not nice and fresh at all.
My sister got a cake for my nephews birthday on Oct 2, 1017 and when we tried to eat it, it was stale and gross. You could tell the cake had been sitting in the case for a few days. It wasn't ordered fresh. When my sister attempted to go back today to get her money back or some sort of compensation for the stale cake the manager argued and said the cake was fine and would not do anything. The pieces we cut up, were put back in the box so they would understand it was NOT edible.
My family and I went to this bakery on a Sunday around lunch time. This wasn't our first trip, we have had cakes made here and have stopped in whenever passing by to pick up some goodies. We bought a mixture of individual (PRICEY) goodies. When we got home, to eat them, the cannolis were SO STALE and SOGGY! (On top of the other pastries being mediocre at best) Not something I was expecting on a Sunday mid morning... I immediately called to speak with a manager. A manager was not in so I left my name number and voiced my complaint. Not a single person bothered to call me back.
