Being a kind and thoughtful person she along with her daughter came to the area where we were boarding the elderly back onto the bus. They allowed each person to look through their glasses to observe this once-in-a-lifetime solar eclipse. It is good to know that there are still some very kindhearted people in this world who demonstrate respect for those elderly who have lived in this area all of their lives. What a wonderful example she set for her young daughter.

As I was walking along I witnessed a young mother with her daughter. I saw that they had the glasses and I asked if they had enjoyed the eclipse. They said that they had and asked if I had enjoyed it. I explained that I was unable to get glasses for myself or for the group of elderly people that were with me.

Went there with two adults, two children on a Tuesday at 6:00. Plenty of seating, no lines. Service was fine. Fish and chips were excellent. Big portions. Some small stuff for the kids to play on. The shops were closed but it was still nice walking around. Good place to bring kids for dinner on a nice day.

They very kindly let me look through their glasses to see the solar eclipse. But the Young mother explained to me that she had had a very similar experience. She had purchased her food prior to 1:30 PM and was told that the only way she could get a pair of these glasses was to go to the upper deck and purchase an alcoholic beverage. She explained that she does not drink alcoholic beverages in the middle of the day. Nothing doing she had to purchase the beverage which she then discarded. She then obtained a pair of special glasses. You can bet that she too will not be returning to captains Cove.

They serve good food, the fish & chips is what my family always order, and the employees are very nice. However, there's a very fishy odor most of the time that makes my family lose their appetite. Lastly, their drinks are usually very very watery, such as the iced teas & the lemonades. There's also some small cute shops right next to it which is nice. Overall, it's an alright place to visit every once in awhile.

After that we began to see many people with the special glasses that were necessary to safely view the solar eclipse. Upon inquiring we were told that in order to receive those glasses we would have had to place our order after 1:30 PM. We had placed that $200 order just after 12:30 PM. we asked in order to obtain the glasses if we could purchase 10 soft drinks. We were told that that would not do. So we remained disappointed and disillusioned. This showed a total lack of respect for the elderly or In fact for anyone. Needless to say we will not be returning to captains Cove.

Oh and on top of all that the food is horrible.

Monday I had a very disheartening and disappointing visit to captains Cove Marina. I accompanied a group of approximately 10 seniors from a local nursing home to the cove. Most of the seniors were in wheelchairs. When we arrived we purchased approximately $200 worth of food for their lunches. We then tried to move some tables so that they could sit comfortably in a shaded area. We were reprimanded for that. We had never in previous visits moved any tables that we did not replace to their proper area.

One very hot spot during the summer. Huge inside and big patio outside. You get a wide variety of crowd, and it can get very busy at times so the bar can get backed up. Go for the amazing view and the inside decor not the people...

Awesome view.. amazing service.. affordable prices.. I just love coming here and clearing my head. It's one of the peaceful places I have been to. :)
